The Syrian cabinet denounced Israeli aggression in Syria as a blatant violation of its sovereignty, territory and airspace, in an extraordinary session held Sunday.
It said the attacks, which hit areas of Damascus early Sunday were "a flagrant attack on the properties and resources of the Syrian People."
The cabinet also underlined a link betweenIsrael and terrorist groups operating inside Syria, including the fanatical Islamist group, the Nusra Front.
The cabinet said Syria will emerge victorious in the conflict, pointing to the determination of its people and the solid support of its friends and allies. It also acknowledged a need to rally forces to liberate the Israeli-occupied Golan territories.
Addressing the cabinet, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said that terrorist attacks will not dent the resistance of Syria and its people, stressing Syria's historical role in defending the Arab Nation.
Halqi said that the government is working to bolster the Syrian people's resolve, by addressing economic development and social services, in addition to expanding the capabilities of the Syrian army.
He noted that national dialogue sessions will continue as the only means to finish the current crisis, lauding the solidarity between the Syrian people and the army in facing its enemies.
Following the session, Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi read a cabinet statement, underlining the potential for Israeli aggression to escalate regional confrontation.
"The Syrian government stresses that this aggression will open the door for all possibilities," Zoubi said. He added that the attack proved, without doubt, "an organic link between the parties involved in the war on Syria, their infidel terrorist agents, and Zionism."
The cabinet agreed Israel's aggression proved its link with the fanatical terrorist groups and warned the international community of consequences.
"The international community should realize that Israel's aggression will complicate an already dangerous regional situation," the cabinet statement said.
"The countries supporting Israel should know quite well that our people and our state do not accept humiliation, and that Israel and its agents in the region cannot singlehandedly meddle with regional security and the future of our people," the statement added.
In concluding remarks, the cabinet stressed the role of the army in combating Israeli aggression and its agents operating inside Syria.
"The army will continue its achievements in combating Israel's tools… and will always maintainthe right to protect the homeland, the state and the people against any internal or external aggression by any means," the statement concluded.
