Sources at the Tartus Recruitment Directorate reported that 5,000 draft dodgers had escaped recruitment in Tartus in 2013.
The sources said that the increase in the number of deaths among the regime troops and the other security forces might be the reason behind the rise.
The Human Rights Violations Documentation Center had reported previously that the number of deaths among regime forces from Tartus reached 2,324 by the end of 2013, while the number of deaths from Latakia was about 1,900.
