Informed sources have revealed an agreement was reached between the families of the child victims of a deadly vaccine in Idleb province, and hospital employees and field supervisors in the Ministry of Health in the Interim Government of the Syrian National Coalition.
The sources confirmed that the family of each child exposed to harm or disability would be compensated and that 2 million Syrian Pounds would be paid in compensation for each of the 18 deceased children. The money is to be paid within one month from the date of the agreement.
Investigations showed that the cause of death is medical neglect, and that there is no criminal case. The reason for the deaths was due to the fact that the vaccines had been stored in the fridge with other medical items.
More than 20 children received the vaccines from field hospitals in the countryside of Maaret al-Numan, leading to deaths of most of them, while the rest suffered from other harmful side effects.
