The governor of ISIS in Raqqa issued a decree on Wednesday banning all males under the age of 50 from leaving the city, confiscating their military service books.
ISIS has also begun confiscating military service books of men arriving in the city, according to a Masar Press Network correspondent.
Masar Press website claimed many of the city's residents have been forced to leave due to laws passed by ISIS, especially after the closure of city schools in early December of last year. The Network said the decision is not the first of its kind, after ISIS recently issued a similar decision banning all woman under the age of 45 from leaving the city.
ISIS recently opened a medical university located inside the Engineers Union headquarters in Raqqa. There are currently several conditions for admission, the most important of which was that the age of the applicant should be above 18 and not older than 30. The course duration is three years.
Raqqa is also witnessing a sharp rise in the price of food, along with heavy blackouts affecting power for more than 20 hours a day.
In the city of Aleppo, the Sharia court issued a decision today preventing men between the ages of 18-35 from travelling to regime-held areas until further notice, Syria’s Mubasher Network claimed.
In an official statement issued by the court’s social media site, all those who travel to areas controlled by regime's army will be punished. The statement claimed those who travel would likely be arrested by the regime and forced to fight the rebels.
