Foreign Ministry Condemns Tunisian Museum Terrorist Attack

The Syrian government vehemently condemned the terrorist attack launched yesterday on the Tunisian Bardo National Museum, expressing solidarity with the people of Tunisia and offering condolences to the families of the victims.

The Syrian foreign ministry released a statement claiming that this terrorist criminal act proves again that terrorism does not belong to a certain religion or homeland. The ministry reiterated its call for regional and international efforts to eliminate terrorism in accordance with international legitimacy, which constitutes a threat to peace, security and stability all over the world.

Earlier Wednesday, a attack by two Tunisian gunmen at Bardo National Museum in Tunis killed 19 people, including 17 foreigners, and injured 44 others.

The UN Security Council condemned the terrorist attack, stressing the need ”to bring perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice.”
