A terrorist mortar attack on a residential area of Damascus killed two women and injured 26 others, including 16 students, a local police said.
Terrorists positioned in Eastern Ghouta fired mortar shells into the compound of Sheikh Ahmad Kuftaro in the neighborhood of RuknEddin, leaving 14 citizens injured, four of them in a critical condition, and causing material damage.
The source added that three shells also landed on the area of Bab Touma, killing two women and injuring nine others.
At least three other mortar shells landed on the neighborhood of al-Amara, Baghdad Street and the area surrounding the Customs roundabout, causing material damage to a number of cars in the area.
A medical source at Al-Moassat Hospital confirmed that two students and a professor were injured when a shell hit the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
In the province of Hassakeh, a civilian was killed and two others were injured when two land mines exploded scattering shrapnel into the victims.
A police source told SANA that a land mine also detonated on Tuesday in the village of Marzouka in Tal Barrak, about 42 km east of the city of Hassakeh, killing one civilian and injuring another.
