The Syrian army has uncovered a mass grave in the area surrounding Palmyra’s airport in central Homs province, according to a local field source.
The source said that 31 bodies, including those of a woman and a child, were found by the army and popular defense groups to the south-west of the airport.
The source clarified that the bodies showed signs of torture, likely inflicted by Islamic State members, adding that some of the victims had been decapitated.
Earlier on April 1, a mass grave containing the bodies of 40 women and children was discovered by popular defense groups in the north-eastern areas of Palmyra city.
