Syrian rebels and Islamist factions, including the Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement, are assembling troops to fight Islamic State-affiliated groups in the southern province of Daraa as clashes erupted early Sunday, sources said Tuesday.
Al-Qaeda's Syria branch, the Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and Free Syrian Army units have sent reinforcements to the western countryside of Daraa as the Yarmouk Martyrs Brigade and the Islamic Muthanna movement are preparing to capture towns of Tsail, Sahm al-Jolan and Hait, after taking control of Adwan village eraly Monday, field sources said.
Nusra Front's commander in Daraa, Abu Salah al-Masalmeh, was killed in the ongoing clashes with Yarmouk Martyrs on Monday.
