A group of opposition parties and individuals has called on the National Coalition to restructure the coalition in order to overcome the “confusion and conflicts among those who dominate the coalition.”

The politicians and intellectuals called on the Coalition to restructure the coalition to make it “more balanced” and to get it “out of the hegemony of one party,” in reference to the Muslim Brothers.

The group issued a statement calling for adding 25 members who represent the “civil-democratic current” to it and to correct the position of the women inside the coalition.

The statement also called to “retrieve the Syrian independent decision”, and to turn the Coalition into the actual representative of the Syria people “without whose approval no one can enter Syria, and no one in Syria can have any connection with any foreign entity but through it.”

The statement called on the coalition to give up the idea of having an interim government, and to turn the “Free Syrian Army into a national army with the highest level of discipline and fighting capacity.”

The statement was signed by renowned politicians and intellectuals, including Michel Kilo, Basma Kadmani, Kamal Labwani Fayez Sara, and others.
