Within the framework of its aggression on the Syrian territories and with the aim of damaging the food security of Syria, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has started to distribute unknown types of wheat seeds to farmers in the areas that are under the control of the U.S.-backed “Syrian Democratic Forces” militia in the Hassakeh countryside.

According to local sources in the southern countryside of Qamishli, the USAID distributed 3,000 tonnes of suspicious wheat seeds to farmers in the Tal Hames region and the nearby areas in Hassakeh.

In this context, the Chairman of the Hassakeh Farmers Union Ahmad Kan told the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) that the distributed seeds have not been tested by official laboratories, asserting that no good could come from the U.S. occupation that loots the country’s resources daily.

The distributed seeds might damage agricultural lands and destroy production in the future, according to the agricultural expert Rajab al-Salameh.

It is worth mentioning that the Syrian wheat is of high quality.
