Syrian regime supporters circulated news on social media of a Syrian army soldier who claimed to have spent hours in the mortuary after medics presumed he was dead.
Tarek Darwish was severely injured while fighting in al-Qarmid in the northern province of Idleb two weeks ago.
Suffering from injuries to his abdomen, Darwish was sent to the mortuary refrigerator after being declared dead.
Darwish was later discovered to retain a pulse by his uncle as he was called to retrieve the soldier’s body.
