The Cabinet approved an integrated plan to develop services and the economy for the areas recently liberated from terrorists.
The plan which included villages in the Homs and Hama countryside, and Damascus countryside, aims to restore all services and infrastructure, and put state institutions in place.
The session which was chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis on Sunday allocated the necessary funds to revive the industrial and artisan zones in al-Qaboun, al-Zablatani, and al-Qadam.
The MPs stressed the need for the rapid rehabilitation of infrastructure and services, and encouraging and facilitating the return of craftsmen into the area.
The cabinet also commissioned the Ministry of Transport to expand the effectiveness of the railways, and give special attention to the relationship between the public and private sectors which will support infrastructure projects in the field of transport.
They also asked the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor to begin the National Fund for Social Assistance to fulfil its functions of empowering specific social categories.
