Members of the Syrian Coalition’s General Assembly elected new presidential and political bodies during its 30th meeting that concluded on Monday. The conferees paid tribute to the late Yakoub Ammar, the Minister of Local Administration in the Syrian interim government who was killed in a terrorist attack by ISIS-linked militants in Daraa on September 22.
President Anas Alabdah was re-elected for a second six-month term along with his deputies Abdul Hakim Bashar and Samira Almasalma. Abdul Ahad Steifo was elected as vice president, succeeding Muwaffaq Nyrabiya. Secretary-General Abdul Ilah Fahd was also re-elected to the post.
A new 19-member political body was elected for a six-month term on Monday. They are: Fuad Aliko, Nagham Alghadiri, Fayez Sara, Hawas Khalil, Muwafaq Nyrabiya, Ahmed Syed Yusuf, Mohammed Dugheim, Haitham Rahma, Youssef Mahalli, Hadi Albahra, Riad Hasan, Adnan Rahmoun, Muhammed Qaddah, Michel Kilo, Badr Jamous, Yasser Farhan, Nasr Alhariri, Osama Taljou, and Muhammed Jouja.
