A statement on the occasion of the second anniversary of the start of the revolution of dignity

Syrians survived two years of tremendous challenges, but have also achieved significant steps in political, civil, military and relief areas. Nonetheless, the large challenges still before us only increase our determination to overthrow the Assad regime and establish the new Syria.
A statement on the occasion of the second anniversary of the start of the revolution of dignity

Cairo, Egypt, March 15, 2013 – After the spark of the Arab Spring, there was no doubt that Syrians would rise against the tyranny that ruled Syria with an iron fist for decades, and that their revolution would be the keystone of the Arab Spring.
Today, as we enter the second half of the month of March, we commence the third year of the Syrian revolution. Although Syrians knew that victory would surely come, we also knew that the road would not be easy. Our greatest motivation and the source of our renewed determination is our deeply rooted faith that we will fully achieve our objectives.

The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, as the sole representative of the Syrian people, shall always see through the eyes of the people, reflect their views and seek to fulfill their aspirations.
During the past twenty-four months, we have discovered the true reality of the Syrian human being. We find this reality in our proud women and men. We find it in the rebel and the fighter, the politician and the intellectual and in the many unknown soldiers who fought for freedom. It is only natural for a group of people to disagree in views, however all of our paths strive towards the goal that brought us together. All Syrian demand freedom, justice and dignity.

We certainly face difficult times. Our sole choice is to uphold the truth that ignited us, and to have patience and continue the struggle of those who sacrificed their lives for our vision. We will not stop until we achieve the great objectives for which our martyrs gave their lives.

May God have mercy on our martyrs, provide health for our wounded, and freedom for our prisoners. Long live Syria and its people free and with honor.
