Recent reports have stated that the opposition Martyrs of Yarmouk Brigades are holding 4 U.N. observers under its protection near the Golan Heights.

 

The Syrian Coalition has communicated directly with the brigade, which has provided assurances that the U.N. observers are safe and will be released as soon as conditions allow, possibly as early as tomorrow.

 

Brigade officers took the U.N. observers into custody in order to protect them from cross-fire during clashes with Assad forces.

 

The Syrian Coalition will continue to monitor the situation closely.
