The Syrian Coalition denounces the explosions targeting civilians in Marjeh Square, Damascus.
Bashar Assad must take responsibility for the chaos he has spread throughout Syria, with his complete disregard for civilian life and his use of killing squads to terrorize civilians.
The Coalition expresses its sincere condolences to the families of those who died in the explosions, and wishes the wounded a speedy recovery.
It is futile to say that we must seek out the perpetrators. Both the immediate perpetrators, and those acting behind the scenes, are well known.
The international community has silently born witness to Assad’s continuous crimes. With over 90,000 dead and much of the country destroyed, Syrians are left to wonder about when the friends of Syria will provide the kind of help needed to end the crisis.
Justice will prevail. The people will obtain their freedom. The guilty will be arrested and they will be read their rights, receive a fair trial and just punishment. The realization of justice is the only righting of wrongs the Syrians wish for.
We ask for Mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded, and freedom for our detainees.
Long live Syria, and its people, free and with honor.
