Residents in Waer, the last opposition-controlled neighborhood in Homs city, are forced to survive without access to medication as the Assad regime continues to prevent the entry of all medical supplies and other basic materials to the area.
Dr. Mohammed Moharem said the regime has prevented supplies from entering the neighborhood since June 2016, when the last aid convoy delivered medication to pharmacies and the amount couldn't cover residents’ needs, he added.
The doctor said that the district relied on stored medication and what was allowed to enter via humanitarian aid channels, explaining that after three months all the stored medication dried up, especially antibiotics, analgesics and intestinal drugs, as well as medication to treat chronic disease.
