On the fifth of November, 2022, Lebanon returned a batch of 400 Syrians to their country under the supervision of officers and members of the General Security and the Lebanese Army. The batch set off from the town of Arsal towards the “Zumarani” crossing on the Lebanese-Syrian border and then to the western Qalamoun to settle their situation at the Jarajir shelter center.

At the time, the regime’s news agency SANA confirmed the arrival of a batch of Syrian refugees to Syria, through the Dabousiya border crossing in Homs countryside, in preparation for their return to their areas.

Subsequently, deportations of refugees from Lebanon came to an abrupt halt.

In its latest report, Wusool Organization for Human Rights confirmed that the return of Syrian refugees from Lebanon to Syria is carried out forcibly, pointing to the pressures they are subjected to and the restrictions on them to force them to return despite the risks they face.
