Iranian militias fear the start of the Turkish military operation in northern Syria, due to the proximity of their areas of operation in the areas of Nubl and al-Zahraa north of Aleppo to the city of Tal Rifaat –which the Turkish army and the Syrian National Army want to control. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed this news a few days ago.
Commenting, Major Youssef Hammoud, the official spokesman for the National Army, told Baladi News: “It is expected that the military operation will include several areas and several axes and that most of the areas are of common importance.”

“The Iranian presence in the area is concentrated in the city of Tal Rifaat and its surroundings and in the cities of Nubl and Zahraa, which they claim are strongholds of Iranian militias,” Hammoud said.
The spokesman for the National Army added: “Iran will try to resist, whether politically or militarily, and this is what we saw by providing military support through the arrival of several columns and their deployment in the region.
He continued in his speech to Baladi News: “I do not think that the confrontation at the level of the international decision should be military but through the existing tools. All the militias in the region, including the regime forces, have advisors from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards with them, and they can intervene militarily at the appropriate time.”
