Procedures of transferring Egyptian gas to Lebanon through Syria and Jordan were discussed during a meeting between the Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek al-Molla, and the Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water Walid Fayyad.

Egyptian media outlets quoted Molla’s statement as saying that his meeting with his Lebanese counterpart came to complete the discussions on the executive procedures and the steps that have been taken to transport Egyptian gas to Lebanon as part of the Egyptian state‘s commitment to supporting Lebanon to overcome the current energy crisis by providing it with the gas supplies it needs.

For his part, Fayyad said that that it was agreed to check and evaluate the gas transmission line linking Syria and Lebanon in the framework of the required arrangements to prepare the necessary infrastructure for its transfer.
