Women Protest Against Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham

On Saturday, the western countryside of Aleppo witnessed demonstrations by dozens of women against Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly Jabhat al-Nusra), with the aim of denouncing the organization’s violations and call for the release of their detained relatives who were arrested nearly nine months ago for no reason.

Sources confirmed that dozens of women came out, since the morning, in the town of al-Sahara in the western countryside of Aleppo to denounce the practices of HTS and its security apparatus, according to reporting by North Press.

As per the same sources, the women demanded the release of their detained relatives, who were arrested by HTS nine months ago, without knowing the charges or the reasons behind their arrest.

Sources reported that the demonstrators raised banners expressing the protracted HTS violations against civilians in the areas it controls.

Mid-last week, dozens of women took part in a demonstration against HTS in the town of al-Sahara, west of Aleppo. The HTS security apparatus exhibited violence and fired warning bullets at the demonstrators. There is no information about injuries among the women.
