1. SANA reported that the United Nations General Assembly reiterated its demands for Israel to comply with resolutions on the occupied Syrian Golan, particularly Resolution No. 497 for 1981, which considers Israel’s decision to impose its law and legal jurisdiction and administration on the occupied Syrian Golan to be null, void, and without international legal effect. This came as the General Assembly adopted a decision titled “Occupied Syrian Golan” on Friday, with 157 states voting in favor, 20 states abstaining, and only Israel and the United States voting against.
2. Sputnik reported that three White Helmets’ workers were killed. The Russian news agency sad the three were killed while they were transporting a “shipment of explosives” in an ambulance in Hama’s northwestern countryside. Local sources told Sputnik news agency that three members of the so-called “White Helmets” were killed when an ambulance affiliated to the group exploded in the surroundings of Qastoun town in the Hama northwestern countryside.
3. More than 1,000 ancient relics and mosaics were saved from the Islamic State (ISIS) when staff at the museum of the Syrian city of Raqqa managed to hide them underground and in storehouses, Syrian officials and experts were quoted as saying by AP. Israel’s defense minister warned Iran against its continued presence in Syria, saying Israel will “work tirelessly” to prevent the establishment of a stable Iranian military presence in the war-torn country. “It is no secret that Iran is trying to establish a ring of fire around our country, it is already based in Lebanon and is trying to establish the same in Syria, Gaza and other locations,” Naftali Bennett said last week.
