A government delegation composed of two ministers, Local Administration and Environment Minister Hussein Makhlouf and Water Resources Minister Hussein Arnous, visited the Euphrates Dam and the city of Tabqa in Raqqa provinces less than a month after the agreements reached between the government and the Self-Administration.
The visit, the first since 2013, was to reassure the staff working at the dam of their safety and the technical and structural soundness of the dam. Arnous said that four of the original eight turbines were operational, but the facility had witnessed some damage.
