New Documentary Seeks to Expose Media Lies

"The VETO" has been made by Vanessa Beeley, who has been a long time supporter of President Assad, and highly critical of Western actions in Syria writes SANA.

With the aim of shedding light on the lies and misleading media reports that have been published during the war against terrorism in Syria, a documentary titled “The VETO”, made by British journalist  Vanessa Beeley, was screened on Wednesday at Culture House in Daraa in cooperation with journalist Rafiq Lutf.

The documentary, filmed by Abdul-Mun’aim Arnous, exposes the media’s lies, by showing the behind the scenes plots that targeted Syria, particularly in Homs City, which were later reported by the misleading Western and Arab media.

The documentary talks about the attempt by the West to use the Security Council as a tool to exert pressure on Syria, and to consequently form international groups to impose economic and military pressures on the country.

The film also shows the reaction of the West, which stood against Russia and China due to their supportive stance of Syria and what the country has done to preserve its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Lutf told SANA’s reporter that the film explains how events were fabricated for later use against Syria, adding that the film was screened at the Security Council and was distributed among the journalists working at the council, in addition to a screening in Oslo.

The film has been translated from English into seven languages, with the aim showing the West that some states were using terrorist groups, and the so-called “White Helmets” and other players to exert pressure on Syria at the Security Council.
