20-12-2012 – The National Coalition and the Syrian Military Joint Command reiterated that they have a joint goal which is overthrowing the regime and dismantling its security forces.
This agreement came in a meeting that has been held recently between Muaz al Khatib, the President of the National Coalition of Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces and General Salim Idris, Chief of the Syrian Military Joint Command.
A statement made by the National coalition Wednesday, of which the Syrian Observer got a copy of, said that the two parties “reaffirmed the popular demand of toppling the regime and all its figures, dismantling the Assad loyal security forces, and empowering the Syrian people to take their destiny into their hands and defend themselves by bringing down the regime and accelerating the forming of the interim government to end the suffering of the Syrian people.”
