Assad Appoints New Hama Governor

Anas Abdel Razzaq al-Naem was killed last month in a car bomb attack in the Jarajma district

President Bashar Assad has appointed a new governor for Hama, the state-run news agency SANA reported on Tuesday.

Assad named Ghassan Omar Khalaf as Governor of Hama province, replacing Anas Abdel Razzaq al-Naem, who was killed last month in a car bomb attack in the Jarajma district of Hama.

The government blamed rebels from the Nusra Front for the killing.
