The Chief of Staff of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) Major General Selim Idriss said on Tuesday that the FSA will not participate in the Geneva conference, to be held in Switzerland on 22 January.
Idriss said that the FSA will continue fighting the regime of Bashar Assad during the talks.
In an interview with Al-Jazeera, Idriss said the conditions are not favorable for the Geneva II conference to go on as scheduled.
He added that the fighters will not stop fighting during or after the conference, stressing that all that matters at this time is to get the weapons fighters need.
