Correspondents in Damascus have told All4Syria that the artist Leila Ahmed Awad was arrested last week and referred to the Terrorism Court of on charges of promoting and supporting terrorism and exit Syria illegally.
Awad decided to return to Syria from Germany after leaving a year ago via Beirut. She returned last Tuesday evening. She was arrested by
Syrian security forces in Jdeideh arrested Awad and delivered to the Khatib branch No 251 where she was interrogated for six days on how she left Syria, her activities and relationship with the opposition abroad.
