Army Releases 48 Kidnapped Civilians, Officers in Raqqa

A unit of the armed forces released Monday 48 kidnapped civilians and military members, including officers, in the Tabqa area of Raqqa province.

The release of the citizens, abducted by armed terrorist groups, was a result of a special operation by the army under the framework of the state’s continued efforts to determine the fate of kidnapped people and release them.

Dozens of abducted people held by terrorist groups have been released by army units in cooperation with the National Defense Forces. The latest release operation was on March 14, when three women from the villages of Hambushiyeh, Barouda and Ballouta in the northern countryside of Latakia were set free.

Two more abductees were released in the Qarabis neighborhood in the city of Homs on 12 March.
