Russian Scholarships Offered to Syrian Students in 2014

Director of the Russian Cultural Center says Russia and Syria seeke to improve their cultural and educational relationship


The Minister of Higher Education, Malek Ali discussed with Director of Russian Cultural Center in Damascus Vyacheslav Avsyanken on Sunday ways to prepare Syrian student and send them to Russia on educational scholarships in available specialties.


During the meeting, Ali pointed out that the number of Russian scholarships available has now increased to 100; 3 for undergraduate level and 68 for MA and PhD for students who were prepared earlier.


For his part, the Director of the Russian Cultural Center expressed his center's readiness to facilitate scholarship offers, adding that Russia and Syria have a "cultural and educational relationship which we are seeking to improve."
