Dismembered corpse found in Beirut was Syrian man "involved in prostitution"

A corpse discovered chopped into pieces and thrown into a dumpster near Beirut has been identified as a Syrian man "involved in prostitution," state media reported Tuesday, adding that two suspects have been arrested over the killing.

The dismembered body was found Monday morning stuffed in trash bags in the area of Ouzai, just south of Beirut.

Lebanon's National News Agency named the victim at Mustafa Nassif Saad, about 45 years old.

Syrian national Zaki Saleh Tahawi and an unnamed Bengali woman have been arrested on suspicion of the crime.

The report provided no further details of the incident and did not mention motive.

In a separate incident Monday another 45-year-old Syrian man was found stabbed and burned to death inside his home in the coastal town of Saadiyat, 25 kilometers south of the capital.
