Fayez Daher, Minister of Justice in the Syrian interim government, said that the UN’s failure to hold the Assad regime accountable negates its purpose and raises doubts about the role of the UN organizations and the world’s active players.”

 

Daher presented the Ministry's vision about the future of the judiciary in Syria during a meeting with representatives of the foreign ministries of the United States, the United Kingdom and Denmark at the headquarters of the interim government in Gaziantep, Turkey. Daher also briefed the representatives about the work of the ministry in this regard and the obstacles that it is facing, in addition to highlighting the daily violations committed by the regime against the Syrian people.

 

The representatives expressed desire to cooperate with the Ministry their support for its declared vision. The meeting was also attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Local Administration in the interim government. Meanwhile, interim Prime Minister Ahmed Tomeh received Marc Otte and Jeroen Vergeylen, the EU’s representatives at the headquarters of the interim government in Gaziantep, Turkey.

 

The meeting discussed developing the relationship with the European Union to serve the interests of the Syrian people and their just cause. Tomeh expressed appreciation for the efforts made ​​by the European Union and the desire to increase the level of cooperation between the Syrian interim government and the European Union.
