Clerics Mediate Between Nusra Front, Rebels in Idleb

Longterm ceasefire agreed between fighting factions

Rebel clerics have intensified efforts to defuse infighting between Al-Qaeda Syria’s wing and Syria's Revolutionaries Front in Idleb countryside.

Huthaifa Azzam, one of mediators between the Nusra Front and Jamal Maarouf’s rebel group, told Zaman al-Wasl that an agreement has been reached, stipulating a long-term ceasefire.

The son of well-known jihadist, Abdullah Azzam, said representatives of both rebel groups have agreed to meet again next Wednesday where the ceasefire will completely enter into force.

As rebel infighting continues, more than 191,000 Syrian people have been killed and over 9 million forced to flee their homes.
