Families Fleeing Terrorists in Douma Turn to Army for Help

Dozens of families have fled areas controlled by armed terrorist groups in Douma, Damascus countryside, seeking protection at nearby military checkpoints.

The Syrian army evacuated 107 people on Friday from al-Shifonyeh and Housh al-Fara, east of Douma, claimed a source at the Damascus Police Command. The families were later transported to housing centers in al-Dweir.

More than 5,000 people have fled terrorist-controlled areas in several parts of Damascus’ countryside in the past week. Over 800 gunmen have also turned themselves over to the authorities.
