Opposition Forces in Idleb Seize Musaibin

Al-Souria Net reporter Shadi Assaiyd claims opposition fighters have seized the village of Musaibin in the southern countryside of Idleb this morning.

Assaiyd said that after seizing the checkpoints on the outskirts of the town, opposition fighters managed to enter the vicinity and control it.

The village enjoys a significant strategic location as it is located between al-Mastumah camp and Jabal al-Arbain, only 2.5 km away from the city of Ariha.

Assaiyd said the town was shelled with heavy weapons before opposition brigades advanced seizing a number of buildings and checkpoints around the town.

The reporter said that seizing the town enabled the opposition fighters to cut the regime supply line between al-Mastumah camp and the city of Ariha.

The Nusra Front has claimed responsibility for the bombing of one of the regime's checkpoints within the village of al-Mastumah, which led to the death and injury of a number of soldiers.

Media activist Mazen Ariha told al-Souria Net: "After the regime lost many checkpoints in the area of Jabal al-Arbain it attempted to recover the points lost yesterday, but the attempts were met with fierce resistance from the opposition forces”.

The activist pointed out that the clashes led to the death of around 15 regime soldiers, in addition to the injury of many others.

"Opposition factions are trying to seize the remaining checkpoints in the western side of Jabal al-Arbain", the activist added.
