Syria, Iran Seek to Boost Strategic Ties

Damascus stresses need for strengthened coordination to tackle regional threats and challenges

Interior Minister Gen. Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar stressed the need to boost strategic coordination and cooperation between Syria and Iran to tackle the challenges and threats facing the region.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in Tehran on Sunday, Shaar said that his visit seeks to strengthen bilateral relations and boost cooperation between the two countries, namely in the fields of combating terrorism, extremism, organized crime, illegal immigration, trafficking of archeological artifacts, and narcotics.
