Russia’s defense ministry has dismissed reports by Western media claiming that it has plans to establish a new airbase in Syria.
Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Monday that there are no new bases or extra airports to serve as a takeoff point for Russian warplanes in Syria, adding there are no plans to establish such facilities.
