Rebels Thwart Regime Offensive on Harbanafseh, Hama Province

Syrian rebels have thwarted a regime attack on the town of Harbanafseh in the southern countryside of Hama, killing three soldiers, field sources said Tuesday.

Regime forces backed by Russian jets launched a major attack three weeks ago to capture the southern countryside of Hama, aiming to cut rebel supply lines with neighboring Homs province.

Meanwhile, rebels in the Houla region have targeted the water and power supplies that feed regime-held areas in Homs and Hama to ease pressure on the towns of Harbanafseh and Talf.
