Rebels Attack Regime Barracks in Zaraa, Hama Province

Opposition fighters seize weapons and an armored vehicle in the overnight surprise attack

Rebels launched a surprise attack on regime barracks in the town of Zaraa, in the southern countryside of Hama province, seizing machine guns and tank.

Opposition sources said the overnight attack was in support of the besieged city of Aleppo, which is witnessing heavy fighting between Syrian government forces and rebel factions.

In the neighboring northern countryside of Homs, regime forces targeted the towns of Houla and Rastan with heavy artillery and air strikes.
