French Delegation Calls for Reopening French Centers in Syria

During its current visit to Syria, a French delegation held a meeting with a number of Syrian university students on Wednesday.

In the meeting, discussion focused on the current situation of education and the necessity of reflecting the truth of the events in Syria to the world.

Fabienne Blineau, elected advisor of Lebanese-Syrian relations for French communities by the Assembly of French Citizens Abroad, said the misjudged decision of the French government to close its institutions in Syria has caused much damage, calling attention to the importance of reopening these places and restoring cultural exchange.

Blineau emphasized the need to support the Syrian people, noting that her visits to Syria, which started in 2014, aim at encouraging the associations interested in the field of education.

The French delegation includes representatives from French NGOs.
