Baath Forum Calls for Speedy Reconstruction of East Aleppo

Senior Baath Party official Hilal al-Hilal stressed the importance of the speedy reconstruction of infrastructure in Aleppo's terror-affected neighborhoods to enable displaced residents to return to their homes.

Hilal made his remarks during an annual Baath Party conference on Sunday, where he called upon all concerned parties to coordinate to provide assistance to Syrian people and alleviate their suffering.

For his part, Public Works and Housing Minister Hussein Arnous highlighted the huge damage caused due by terrorist attacks which targeted the power and water networks of Aleppo city. He pointed out that massive amounts of rubble and debris have been removed from the main streets, adding that his ministry is working to build 6,000 residential units to house returning residents.

For his part, Tourism Minister Bishr Yazigi underlined his ministry’s efforts to rehabilitate the sector in Aleppo, adding that 115 tourist facilities, over half of those affected by terrorist attacks, have been reopened since the end of fighting.

He noted that an investment map for Aleppo city has been set up with the aim of helping the rehabilitation of tourist facilities and establishing new services and investment projects.

In turn, Health Minister Nizar Yazigi pointed out his ministry’s efforts to upgrade the health care sector throughout the province by reopening a number of medical facilities in Aleppo’s eastern neighborhoods, including the Aleppo National Hospital.
