Ahrar al-Sham Base in Idleb Hit by Double Suicide Attack

Two suicide blasts shook an Ahrar al-Sham military base on Sunday in Tell Touqan in the Idleb countryside, killing and wounding a number of people.

An Ahrar al-Sham correspondent reported on his Twitter account that the blasts targeted the group’s Lions of Islam Brigade, adding that a large number of people were killed and wounded in the blasts.

Fighters from Ahrar al-Sham said that a bomber wearing a suicide belt blew himself up followed shortly by a second suicide bomber driving a motorcycle.

So far no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Ahrar al-Sham’s bases have been targeted by suicide blasts previously, especially on the Turkish-Syrian border. The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for that attack.
