FSA Groups to Name Coalition Representatives as Part of Reform Plan

The Syrian National Coalition has set up a special committee to consult with Free Syrian Army groups on the selection of their representatives within the Coalition’s ranks.

In statement issued on Wednesday, the Coalition said that most of the 12 selected FSA groups have already agreed to name representatives in the Coalition. The committee is now waiting for a consensus.

The special committee also decided to set up a working group to supervise the coordination of efforts between the Coalition and revolutionary forces.

“This important step has brought together the political and military wings of the revolution and is expected to ensure strong representation of the FSA groups in the Coalition,” the statement said.

The reform program put forward by the Coalition President Riad Seif includes a series of steps designed to improve the Coalition’s bylaws and ensure strong representation of civil society and political forces in the bloc.
