Bouthaina Shaaban, top advisor to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has touted the inevitable triumph of the East against Western imperialism, specifically in the Arab world.
Shaaban’s comments came during a meeting on Sunday with a Jordanian delegation headed by Deputy of the Arab Lawyers Union Samih Khreis.
During the meeting, Shaaban said that the delegation’s visit is a healthy step on the road toward building an integrated Arab vision.
She added that the Western project is in a clear decline and that the rise of the East has become inevitable, saying that “this East will be a key pole in this world, and we as Arabs need to lay solid foundations for our national liberation project to be adopted by future generations.”
Speaking in turn, Khreis said Syria has been an example for steadfastness and resistance.
