Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham Launches Surprise Attack on Regime Forces in Hama

The powerful Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) alliance launched a surprise attack on a village in the eastern Hama countryside late on Monday, killing nine pro-Assad forces, activists said.

Meanwhile, local sources from the village of Taldara near the town of Salamiyah said regime forces and allied National Defense Forces militants thwarted the attack, killing at least three HTS fighters.

Salamiyah, a main city in eastern Hama, has been suffering recently from a series of attacks by the Al-Qaeda-linked group and the Islamic State (ISIS).
