U.S.-Led Strikes Kill 4 Children in Southern Hassakeh: Activists

U.S.-led coalition aircraft killed four children in strikes targeting the last Islamic State (ISIS) stronghold in Hassakeh province, activists said Tuesday.

Activist Mohamed Kheder told Zaman al-Wasl that the U.S. strikes pounded the sheep market in the town of Marcada in the southern countryside of Hassakeh.

Strikes by coalition forces also killed 29 civilians, including 14 children, within 24 hours in the ISIS capital of Raqqa, a war monitor said late on Tuesday.

According to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the dead included a family of 14 who had fled to Raqqa from the desert city of Palmyra.
