On Sunday, the U.S.-led Global Coalition revealed the truth of explosions heard on Saturday night in its base east of the Deir-ez-Zor governorate, eastern Syria.
On Saturday, several explosions were heard in the vicinity of Global Coalition’s base near the al-Omar oil field east of Deir-ez-Zor.
Local websites circulated news about targeting the base, followed by firing missiles and intensive warplanes flight over the area.
The Combined Joint Task Forces Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTFOIR) on its Twitter account said, “Tonight in the vicinity of Deir Al-Zour, U.S. Coalition forces conducted a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System operational rehearsal.”
It added the operation was launched “to maintain crew proficiency and readiness.”
At least eight missiles were launched from the base toward Syrian government-held areas west of the Euphrates following the explosions.
Additionally, a military post of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the nearby desert of the government-held town of al-Jalaa, was targeted, according to a local source of the town.
