The Presidential Palace Pursues Abu Ali Khodr in Lattakia

Clashes erupted in Latakia on Tuesday as security forces attempted to raid a warehouse owned by Abu Ali Khodr. Tensions had escalated following disputes between Khodr and the Fourth Division, where he had been employed for several years.

According to confidential sources, the clashes resulted in the death of one member of the raid group, with others sustaining injuries and being transported to Tishreen University Hospital.

Conflicting reports emerged regarding the warehouse’s nature, which Khodr had assigned a dedicated guard group to protect. Speculation circulated about the presence of a secret prison within the warehouse.

On Sunday, properties owned by Khodr, his associates, and employees were subjected to raids by Republican Palace patrols. This action followed news of the removal of immunity for the Assad family from Khodr, leading to a pursuit and the confiscation of his assets.

Confidential sources disclosed to Sowt al-Asima that Maher al-Assad had withdrawn his protection of Khodr several months ago, presenting him as a “gift” to the Republican Palace. This move aimed to subject Khodr’s business dealings and investments to scrutiny by the Economic Committee overseen by Asma al-Assad.
