Haytham Mannaa, Representative of the opposition National Coordination Commission in exile, said that the solution in Syria should be based on major principles: Syria is for its entire people; no place for occupiers or colonials; the civil state is a guarantee; and terrorism is rejected.
Mannaa said in his speech at the Syrian International Conference in Geneva that it is understood that Russia and the US have reached an agreement that solution has to be political, and they are trying to narrow the disagreements between the regime and the opposition, and to enhance the views of the moderate in both sides.
Mannaa, who said that the civil state is the only guarantee for Syria, warned that the situations in Syria will be worse and will last longer in case the international efforts fail to reach a solution.
Mannaa criticized the French government colonial policy and expressed his amazement of the French Minister of Foreign affairs’ call to hold a conference to the so-called ‘Friends of Syria’ in Paris at the same time as the Syrian International Conference.
He added that the French government has been confused for years, and has been imbalanced since it interfered in Libya.
He said that the difference between “us and what is going on in Paris is that we are a group of Syrian democrats who invited a larger group of Syrian democrats… whereas what happening in Paris comes at the invitation of the French |Minister of Foreign affairs in order to dictate them what he wants.”

It is one of the rare incidents where the Syrian media covers a statement made by a Syrian opposition figure. Apparently, the newspaper s trying to play the differences between Haytham Mannaa, who is considered a moderate opposition figure and other opposition such as the Syrian National Coalitions leaders.
