Russia has informed Kazakhstan of preliminary plans to hold upcoming talks on Syria in Astana June 12-13, according the Central Asian nation’s top diplomat.
Russian TASS agency quoted Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov as saying that guarantor states Russia, Iran and Turkey are holding consultations to confirm the dates of the upcoming Astana meeting.
He pointed out that participating parties will discuss the implementation of the de-escalation zone agreement.
On Saturday, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said that a new round of Astana talks on Syria will be held on June 12-13.
